Usually, when fast-food restaurants bring back fan favorites their customers rejoice.

But sometimes the return of a specialty menu item doesn’t go so well.

And McDonald’s customers are not happy with the return of this favorite McFlurry flavor due to one glaring issue.

McDonald’s fans across the country aren’t “lovin’ it” after the mega fast-food chain brought back its special Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry.

Oh Canada

Fans aren’t upset because they don’t like the confetti McFlurry, they are upset because McDonald’s only made it available to a limited audience.

And sadly, that audience doesn’t include U.S. customers.

The tasty treat, described on the McDonald’s Canada website as a “smooth vanilla soft serve blended with colorful candy confetti and cookie dough, swirled together for a cool and creamy dessert” has only been made available in Canada.

The fan favorite was first introduced last year but was made available for a limited time, between May 9 and June 5 “at participating locations across Canada or while supplies last,” according to McDonald’s Canada.

This limited release, only in Canada, has many U.S. McDonald’s customers feeling left out.

The exclusion of Americans from the McFlurry even got food influencer Snackolator to post on Instagram, “I’m feeling a wide range of emotions here in the US about not getting this one here.”

“It ain’t right!”

Currently, McDonald’s in the United States only offers the McFlurry in two flavors: Oreo cookies or M&M’s candies.

But Canadian McDonald’s restaurants offer Oreo Cookie McFlurry, Smarties McFlurry, SKOR McFlurry, and the newly re-introduced limited-time Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry.

And American fans of the creamy and crunchy McFlurry are not happy that our neighbors to the north have so many more options to enjoy.

Stop being so cruel

Snackolator also pointed out that Canadian McDonald’s also offers a Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry, further igniting the passions of American McFlurry fans.

And the announcement of the limited-time Confetti McFlurry in Canada has set off a new round of angry comments.

Specifically, about the wide discrepancy in menu options between McDonald’s locations in Canada and the U.S.

“Please stop showing stuff the US can’t get,” one user wrote in a comment on Snackolator’s Instagram post.

“That’s just cruel why do they do this to us,” another posted.

“Canada still getting all the fun ones,” someone else added to the posts.

But some posts actually made fun of American McDonald’s customers for complaining about the McFlurry slight.

A fourth disgruntled McDonald’s customer wrote, “Only americans would get mad over not getting an ice cream flavor.”

And one Instagram user decided the only solution was to take “a trip up north” to Canada and enjoy the frosty delight there.

McDonald’s has not yet announced whether the Confetti Cookie Dough McFlurry flavor will be made available in the U.S.

But if the social media posts are any indication, McDonald’s could sell a lot of confetti in the U.S.

And many McDonald’s fans would love to try the other flavors as well.
