Kamala Harris is losing one poll that has CNN pressing the panic button
CNN is one of Kamala Harris’ biggest cheerleaders in the media.
But even the leftists at CNN have to live in reality.
And Kamala Harris is losing one poll that has CNN pressing the panic button.
GOP sees historic edge on party ID poll
Gallup’s poll on party identification is one of the most useful predictors of Presidential election outcomes.
When the parties are near parity in the number of Americans who say they are Democrats or Republicans, the GOP has the edge.
The latest Gallup party ID poll found Republicans leading Democrats by one point.
Republicans haven’t led on this measure since President Ronald Reagan’s years in office.
CNN data analyst Harry Enten explained this to reporter Manu Raju.
Raju set up the segment by noting that Vice President Kamala Harris is now claiming she would appoint a bipartisan council of policy advisors and sitting for an interview on Fox News as evidence even Democrats admitted the country shifted to the Right.
“It actually just shows you, too, why Harris is doing what she’s trying to do, she’s trying to moderate a little bit on these issues,” Raju told Enten.
Kamala campaigned with RINO Liz Cheney and is running TV ads in Arizona to claim she’s the heir to the John McCain tradition of establishment Republicanism.
“Trying to reach those very voters. Because the party registration is changing, the demographics of the voters are changing. Those are the people she needs to attract,” Raju added.
The danger zone for Democrats
Enten told Raju that this poll is a flashing red light for Democrats because when Republicans win Presidential Elections, Democrats have on average a three point lead on party ID.
“You know, the GOP leads by a point in party identification right now, the average when the Republican Party loses is the Democrats ahead by eight. When the Republican party wins, the average party ID advantage for Democrats is three,” Enten began.
Republicans are four points ahead of that historical benchmark.
“Republicans right now, Manu, are doing evening better than the average when they win. If there’s one little nugget that I think Republicans are really hopeful for this party ID and this party registration data, it really points in a good direction for them and for Donald Trump,” Enten concluded.
The Gallup poll on party identification is yet another data point showing this is a change election where the mood of the electorate is sour on the Biden-Harris administration.
Elections in America tend to break late.
The discontent in the electorate with the Democrat administration and the tradition of voters beginning to make up their minds in October is why polls from NBC and ABC showed the race shifting five and four points in former President Donald Trump’s direction respectively.
Voters remember that when Trump was President, inflation was low, gas was cheap, and home mortgages were affordable.
Americans identify the Trump economy as a success which could help explain why more Americans identify as Republicans than Democrats.
